HOW TO REGISTER:

 

Please review all Rules & Regulations on this page carefully before registration

 

  • To qualify for each of the category listed, you must be at the upper age limit indicated in each category as at 1st May 2021.

 

  • The Ars Nova International Music Competition is open to all instruments (including Voice) except Drums.  

 

  • Ars Nova International Music Competition is open to all nationalities.  

 

  • MODES OF PAYMENT

    • All entry fees are non-refundable and are indicated in Singapore Dollar (SGD) unless otherwise stated. VP Agency International (The Organiser) does not account for or have any liability for any participants' bank fees and/or other related charges.
       

    • Closing date for registration is extended till 10 May 2021.  Additional S$35 late registration charges will be applicable for registration after the closing date.

 

Registration fee should be made via PayLah, PayNow, OCBC PayAnyone (SGQR code as provided below)

  • REPERTOIRE, ENTRIES & ETIQUETTE

    • The performance must not EXCEED the time limit indicated below:

 

SOLO

All solo performances must be memorised.

All solo category participants will have free choice of repertoire within the time limit.

Category A (8 years old and below) - within 7 minutes

Category B (9 to 10 years old)  - within 8 minutes

Category C (11 to 12 years old) - within 9 minutes

Category D (13 to 15 years old) - within 10 minutes

Category E (16 to 17 years old) - within 12 minutes
Category F (18 to 20 years old) - within 15 minutes

Open Category (21 years old and above) - within 20 minutes

DUET

Junior Category (10 years old and below) - within 7 minutes
Intermediate Category (11 to 13 years old) - within 9 minutes

Advanced Category (14 to 17 years old) - within 12 minutes

Senior Category (18 to 20 years old) - within 15 minutes

Open Category (21 years old and above) - within 20 minutes

  • Participants can register for the same category with different instruments (eg. One entry for Solo Category A - Piano and one entry for Solo Category A - Violin)

 

  • Solo Category - Only the registered participant will be awarded

  • Duet Category - Both the registered participants will be awarded

  • Guidelines on video submission

    • Videos should be at least 720p in resolution and maximum of 1080p.

    • Videos should be in ONE CONTINUOUS take without any editing for each category submission.

    • Videos MUST be recorded from January 2021 till date. Videos recorded before January 2021 will not be accepted.

    • Videos can be taken in portrait or landscape but must clearly show all participants, instruments and/or music stands. 

    • Videos must be in one of the following formats: MP4, WMV, MOV or MPG. 

    • Videos can be sent to info@arsnovafest.com or

    • Videos can be uploaded to participant's individual YouTube channel and the link to be sent to info@arsnovafest.com 

    • Videos should be set to public or unlisted in YouTube and not to be used for any other similar events.

    • Videos or links are to be submitted by 31 May 2021. Any late submission will result in disqualification and registration fees will be forfeited

    • Participants are required to be in formal attire and proper footwear.

    • Failure to comply will result in disqualification.

  • ADJUDICATION & AWARDS

    • The adjudicating panel will assess each performance based on Technique, Musicianship, Accuracy and Stage Presentation. 

    • The preliminary selections will be held in June 2021.

    • Results of the preliminary selections will be announced by 15 July 2021.

    • Selected finalists will be invited to perform in the Gala Finals, held in September 2021. Details will be provided nearer to date.

    • The organiser reserves the right to determine the number of awards given for finalists during the preliminary selections and the Gala Finals.

    • The decision of the adjudicating panel is final. No discussion or correspondence will be entertained.  

  • GENERAL TERMS AND CONDITIONS

  • By submitting your entry, the participant agrees to the above-mentioned rules & regulations and the following terms & conditions:  

    • The registration fee is neither refundable nor transferable.  

    • Any amendments must be done via email to info@arsnovafest.com within the registration period. No amendments will be accepted thereafter.

    •  The information that you provide will appear as such on our Adjudicators' Report and Certificates. The organiser shall not be held responsible for any errors arising from inaccurate submissions. Please check thoroughly and ensure accuracy when you register.

    • The organiser reserves the right to cancel the event due to insufficient participants or any unforeseen circumstances. All refunds will be made if the competition is cancelled. 

    • The organiser reserves the right to amend the dates, information, rules, terms & conditions of the competition without any prior notice.
