RULES & REGULATIONS

How to register:

 

Please review all Rules & Regulations on this page carefully before filling up the registration form.

 

  • To qualify for each of the category listed in the form, you must be at the upper age limit as at 27th June 2019. 

 

  • The Ars Nova Fest music performance is open to all instruments except Drums.  Participants will have to arrange the transportation of all musical instruments to the performance venue except for Piano.

 

  •  Ars Nova Fest is open to all nationalities.  Foreign participants will have to arrange their own accommodation and air passage to Singapore. 

 

  • All entry fees are non-refundable and are indicated in Singapore Dollar (SGD) unless otherwise stated. MW Fine Arts Academy does not account for or have any liability for any participants' bank fees and/or other related charges.

  • Closing date for registration is 31st May 2019, 6 pmThe late registration fee will apply for registration after the closing date.

 

  • There is no restriction on repertoire selection. The Performance must not EXCEED the time limit indicated below:

 

 

Category A ==> 3 minutes

Category B ==> 4 minutes

Category C ==> 5 minutes

Category D ==> 6 minutes

Category E ==>  8 minutes

 

The performer may be disqualified if the performance exceeds the allowable time limit.  There is only one round of performance for all participants.  The gold, Silver & Bronze certificate will be awarded to all participants based on the judging criteria.

 

  • For Duet or Group performance or performance which require an accompanist, only the key registered participant will be awarded the certificate or trophy.

                              

  • The Jury will assess the performance on technique, musicianship, accuracy and stage presentation. The scores from all judges will then be averaged and the average score will determine the award level below:

 

 

                                        Gold: 86 - 100             Silver: 70-85             Bronze: 50-69

 

SELECTED Gold award winner WILL BE invited to perform in the Gala Performance Concert. Selected performers from each category at the Gala Concert will be presented with a “STAR AWARD” trophy at the end of the Gala Performance. The organizer reserves the rights to determine the number of award for Top Performer at the Gala Performance Concert.

 

All selected participants to the Gala Performance are required to purchase a minimum of 6 concert tickets to each family.

 

Please note that the decision of the judges is final.

 

  • Performance dates, venue and time will be announced and published on the internet (www.mwfa.academy) on 15th June 2019.  Gala Performance for selected Gold Award winners will be held at the Esplanade Recital Studio on 1st September 2019, 6.00pm (To be confirmed).

 

  • All performers must bring along identification document to register at the performance venue 30 minutes before the start of the performance for each segment.  There will be 4 segments of performances each day.  The performer will be notified of his/her performing time schedule via SMS and/or email.  The performing schedules will also be published on the Internet.

 

  • Dress Code

Proper dress attire is required.  Please do not wear sneakers, tennis shoes, flip flops, open-toe shoes, shorts, tank tops or T-shirt.  Failing to observe proper dress code MAY NOT be admitted to the performance hall.

 

  • Photo/Video:

        Photography and video filming are allowed provided it is handheld without the use of tripod and flashlight. 

  

  • General Terms & Conditions:

        MW Fine Arts Academy is not responsible for and shall not be held liable for:

 

  • lost, late, delayed, damaged, incomplete, illegible, unintelligible, or misdirected entries;

 

  • telephone, electronic, hardware or software program, network, Internet, or computer malfunctions, failures, or difficulties of any kind;

 

  • failed, incomplete, partial, garbled, or delayed computer transmissions;

 

  • any condition caused by events beyond the control of the MW Fine Arts Academy that may cause the festival event to be disrupted;

 

  • any printing or typographical errors in any materials associated with the competition;

 

  • any claims, suits, actions, liabilities, injuries, losses, or damages of any kind in connection with the competition or resulting from acceptance, possession, or use of any prizes and awards.

 

  • The decisions of the adjudicators are final and not subject to questions, discussions, reviews or appeals.
